200 Oath Keepers renew vows

In the middle of anti-gun territory in Massachusetts and Connecticut, 200 patriots who are part of the Oath Keepers movement renewed their vows to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.” A key portion of that Constitution is the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

The significance of the gathering was underscored by the fact that the area has been the focus of fear and apprehension in the wake of the bombing of the Boston Marathon and the subsequent shootout and capture of the remaining suspect, a Muslim from the region of Chechnya who apparently had been trained in the tactics of Islamic Jihadists.

Oath Keepers had originally obtained a permit to gather on the Lexington Green nearby but were informed by local city officials that their permit had been revoked due to safety concerns stemming from the terrorist attack.
