BREAKING: House Republicans Make Major Stand For Jailed Marine, Directly Defy Obama

It has been nearly six months since U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi was taking into custody by Mexican officials. Every step of the way since then, Americans have stood in support of the jailed Marine, urging the administration to take actions to protect him.

President Obama, however, has stayed shockingly silent when it comes to the matter. While Americans have called for boycotts of Mexican products and travel, and demonstrations have broken out in the streets, the administration seems keen to sit back and watch to see what happens.

Even some generals and lieutenants have called for decisive action for the government. And now, House Republicans have decided to take action where Obama refuses to.

In an appearance on Fox News, Montel Williams and Representative Matt Salmon announced that a House subcommittee is working to gain insight into Tahmooressi’s situation. The actions that lead to his imprisonment are believed to have been entirely accidental, and the subcommittee hearing to plead his case is scheduled for October 1.

“The president has had ample opportunity to pick up the phone and call the president of Mexico,” Salmon told Fox News.

What do you think? Do you support the committee? Does Tahmooressi deserve protection from the government he serves?
