Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina took direct aim at the often-invoked liberal talking point that conservatives are waging a “war on women.”
In response to a panel question on CNN Sunday, Fiorina bluntly stated, “A lot of women, me included, are sick of the ‘war on women.’” She went on to call it “shameless, baseless propaganda. There’s no fact to it.”
After the Supreme Court decided that “closely held” Christian companies could not be forced to pay for four of twenty forms of contraception, the talking point gained new steam. Some protesters went so far as to say that women could die as a result of the decision.
Fiorina smacked down these claims, literally using fortune cookie wisdom. “Strong and bitter words indicate a weak cause,” Fiorina read. “And that’s exactly right.”
