President Barack Obama views the United States as a rogue nation dominating the world, renowned conservative commentator and author Dinesh D’Souza tells Newsmax.TV.
“He wants to pull this rogue elephant back,” D’Souza said. “He thinks it’s bad for us to be a colonial power. He’s acting in what he thinks is the best interest of America, but the effect of his actions is to contract America’s role in the world.”
Obama’s ultimate goal is for the United States not to be the world’s No. 1 nation any longer, says D’Souza, president of The King’s College in New York City, wrote the recent book “The Roots of Obama’s Rage.”
And that’s not an idea he attributes to Democrats as a whole. “If you told Bill Clinton, ‘You’re trying to make America not No. 1,’ he’d be outraged,” D’Souza says.
“But Obama thinks it would be good for America to be a more normal country — not dominating the U.N., but just one other guy at the table. Obama would like America to be like Greece or Finland — just another country in the parliament of nations.”
D’Souza finds this view difficult to stomach when the United States is in the fight of its life to stay at the top of the world. “We have only been world’s sole superpower for 20 years,” he notes.
“Our tenure at the top is the shortest for any empire in history. It’s a little chilling for me to think of our commander in chief trying to take us down from that position.”
