‘Eco-fascism jumps the shark’ 10:10–No Pressure

Video: The dumbest, most self-defeating ad campaign ever

…the people behind “10:10 – No Pressure” keep trying to get this spot removed from YouTube. As a precaution, I’ve included Stephen Gutowski’s Eyeblast upload to be sure it sticks around, and sticks to the AGW movement like bloody flesh after an explosion. (It’s also uploaded to my account.) If you want to see a demonstration of that, watch this appalling video that shows global-warming enforcers imagining the world they’d like to create, but beware that it includes some disturbing — and disturbed — images:

James Delingpole says that “eco-fascism jumps the shark”:

I predicted this morning that No Pressure – Richard Curtis’s spectacularly ill-judged eco-propaganda movie for the 10:10 campaign – would prove a disastrous own goal for the green movement.

But what I could never have imagined was how quickly public disgust – even among greenies – would reach such a pitch that the campaigners would be compelled to withdraw it from the internet. …

Unfortunately their efforts are being frustrated by people on the sceptical side of the climate debate, who keep peskily insisting on reposting the video where everyone can view it. And rightly so. With No Pressure, the environmental movement has revealed the snarling, wicked, homicidal misanthropy beneath its cloak of gentle, bunny-hugging righteousness.

The Anchoress writes that C. S. Lewis has been proven correct yet again:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences.” –C.S. Lewis

CAJ note: We strongly urge you to read the link HotAir provides to James Delingpole article in the UK’s Telegraph. This video was paid for with British tax dollars. The group’s corporate sponsors include Sony and Kyocera.

Update [corrected]: Don’t know who Richard Curtis is? Yes, you do if you’ve ever watched television programs from Britain (i.e. Dr. Who, Mr. Bean, Blackadder, The Vicar of Dibley…), or one of these films: Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Notting Hill

UpdateAn open letter to 1010global.org :

Dear 1010global.org,

…However, I just saw your repulsive promotional video. Maybe killing innocent men, women, and children in the name of environmentalism seems like dark, edgy humor to you, but I think you should consider that you’re running a global initiative, and some of the countries you list on your home page are the kinds of places where in living memory innocent men, women, and children really were murdered by smug, repulsive bastards to serve somebody else’s great cause…
