Expert: First words of Bergdahl’s father at White House were Arabic, claiming it 'for Islam'

Clare Lopez is a former CIA operations officer, a strategic policy and intelligence expert with a focus on Middle East, national defense, WMD, and counterterrorism issues, and a friend of mine.

She emailed me this morning a very poignant analysis that only someone knowing language and Islam could ascertain. She wrote:

“What none of these media is reporting is that the father’s (SGT Bowe Bergdahl’s father Bob) first words at the WH were in Arabic – those words were “bism allah alrahman alraheem” – which means “in the name of Allah the most gracious and most merciful” – these are the opening words of every chapter of the Qur’an except one (the chapter of the sword – the 9th) – by uttering these words on the grounds of the WH, Bergdahl (the father) sanctified the WH and claimed it for Islam. There is no question but POTUS knows this.”

Folks, there is a lot to this whole episode — like Benghazi — that we may never know. And this is not conspiracy theory, it is truth based upon Arabic and Islamic dogma and tradition.

And here’s the video if you have any questions.

Army may still pursue desertion charges against Bowe Bergdahl

…He noted that U.S. military leaders “have been accused of looking away from misconduct” and said “it’s premature” to assume they would do so in Bergdahl’s case, despite his five years as a Taliban detainee…

Prisoner swap: Did Hillary know? (video)

Republicans are raising questions about whether Hillary Clinton knew about the White House plan to release senior Taliban commanders in exchange for the last U.S. prisoner of war.

President Obama met with his former secretary of State for lunch on Thursday, two days before it was announced that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl had been released from captivity in exchange for five high-profile Taliban prisoners.

Republicans are furious that they were not told of the deal in advance and argue that this broke U.S. law.
They are also suspicious Obama might have informed Clinton, the likely Democratic front-runner for the White House in 2016.

The White House has said it would not give a read out of Obama’s lunch with Clinton, calling it a private event…

J. Christian Adams, Bergdahl: They Don’t Care About the Law, Get Over It (video)

When your opponent keeps running the same play and keeps beating you, you had better adjust. That’s what the Obama administration has been doing since 2009: they do something illegal that offends the Rule of Law and outrages sensible Americans, and they keeping doing it over and over again.

Outrage is an inadequate defense.

The release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is just the latest example of lawlessness…

Mark Levin: The Bergdahl exchange was NOT a POW exchange (audio)

…This is not a POW exchange like past wars. Terrorists are not and have never been considered prisoners of war, not even under the Geneva Convention. Article Five. They’re illegal enemy combatants or if you prefer unlawful enemy combatants.

You’ve got Carney saying this. You’ve got Hagel saying this. This is the party line. I’m waiting on them to pull out some video from some guy in California.

We don’t exchange soldiers for terrorists! And these five terrorists are to be held until the end of hostilities. Hostilities haven’t ended…

Benghazi, Bergdahl and Hamas: The common thread in Obama’s foreign policy

It is about time that pundits stop describing President Obama’s foreign policy as weak. There is a straight line between emboldening Syria’s Assad by calling him a reformer, Egypt’s Morsi a democrat, Turkey’s Erdogan a friend, Iran’s Rouhani a moderate, and now a Palestinian government that includes Hamas, a peace partner.

Monday’s speedy announcement that the United States will work with and pay for a PLO-Hamas coalition government is a strong and predictable step in an alarming pattern…

Karzai blows his top over Obama’s Taliban prisoners swap   (video)

…Karzai reportedly said that President Barack Obama’s actions to retrieve Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl violated an agreement he had with the Obama administration.

“Recently, five Afghan nationals were released in an exchange for Mr. Bowe Bergdahl, and have been transferred to Qatar, which was against a prior understanding with the Afghan government,” Karzai said in his official statement released on Monday…

Which probably explains this headline, from 26 May: Obama Snubbed by President Karzai During Surprise Visit to Afghanistan

The Bergdahl plot thickens

…There hardly seems to be a single thing the Obama administration does that could be considered straightforward, is there? Maybe the killing of Bin Laden; that’s about the only event that comes to my mind. Even the release of an American POW turns out to be loaded with suspicious and powerfully disturbing elements that ought to outrage all Americans.

I suspect that Obama thought this would enhance his reputation as a defender and protector of the military, but I wonder if it will. One thing it has done, though, is to change the subject from the mess at the VA hospitals…

This morning on her Facebook page Clarice Feldman posted this:

People please…

Bergdahl was held by the Haqqani Network, NOT the Taliban. Do not propagate this untruth even here where people know what you are talking about. There are good reasons to be accurate when discussing this.

First, the Haqqani Network (HQN) is a criminal and terror organization placed on the terrorist organization list by none other than Hillary Rodham Clinton. If it is later found to be the case that ANY money was exchanged, or any conspiracy to hide an exchange of material support (as defined) to HQN, the Administration has officially violated 18 U.S. Code § 2339A. They may already have and we just don’t know about it yet.

Second, it deflates the narrative that this is a prisoner exchange to build trust and bring the Taliban into a power sharing agreement. This exchange had nothing to do with the Afghan Taliban, other than they got some of their senior leadership back for free.

Third, there are already articles about how Obama didn’t negotiate with terrorists because the Taliban aren’t really a terrorist organization and the State Department has never declared the Taliban to be a terror organization (at least anywhere that I can find). The Haqqani damn sure are, though.

Finally, as I mentioned before, there is something fishy with Haqqanis trading in such a valuable asset and getting nothing in return for it. That’s a situation that bears a little explanation.

Update: Father of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl reportedly retweets Taliban leader boasting about American deaths (video)

As details continue to emerge about the motivations of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in the lead up to his capture by the Taliban five years ago, his father, Robert Bergdahl, has reportedly been sending out some bizarre tweets that seemingly sympathize with Guantanamo Bay detainees and terrorist leaders. On radio this morning, Glenn took a look at the tweets and what they might say about the Bergdahl family and their intentions.
