This week, former CIA Acting Director Michael Morell will testify publicly for the first time about his role in crafting the talking points on Benghazi. The document initially blamed protests for the attack that killed four Americans on September 11, 2012 in Libya.
Then-U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, said she used the CIA’s talking points when she went on the Sunday talk shows after the attack and falsely blamed an anti-Islamic film.
Three Republican senators are also calling for a joint select committee to investigate the attack. Meanwhile, the House has signed off on a working group led by Georgia Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R)…
…“What we’re trying to find out is … how politicized these talking points were. We know for a fact that Mr. Morell basically deleted about half of the information that was going to be given to us as a committee.”…
