President Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress and the mainstream media face a huge problem in House Speaker John Boehner’s decision to appoint a select committee headed by Rep. Trey Gowdy to investigate the Benghazi scandal.

Gowdy is a former prosecutor who has demonstrated beyond any doubt in his work on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that he means business. Don’t be deceived by the Southern manners and the “Yes Ma’ams” and “No sirs.”

So Democrats will spare no effort to make Gowdy’s life miserable and the work of the panel impossible to complete…

Dow Companies Invest in Clinton — With One Holdout

…Twenty-five of the Dow’s 30 corporations have contributed directly to the Clinton charities; 27 announced philanthropic projects through the Global Initiative; and 16 helped underwrite a $60 million U.S. pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai Expo.

The companies listed on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which are leaders in their industries, collectively spent $193 million last year lobbying the federal government and the U.S. Congress, according to the Washington-based Center for Responsive Politics. Issues they advocated on varied from tax breaks to clean water regulations to curbing government surveillance and data-collection programs.

As Hillary Clinton considers a 2016 presidential bid, the symbiotic relationship between her family and corporate givers has shareholders, consumer advocates and ethics watchdogs wary about conflicts of interest…

Update: Kerry Snubs Benghazi Subpoena

Secretary of State John Kerry today refused to comply with a subpoena to appear before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on May 21. Kerry’s refusal is a far cry from his fulsome promises to cooperate with Congress made as he was taking over from Hillary Clinton. Again, the Obama administration finds itself on a collision course with Congress over Benghazi, especially now that House Speaker John Boehner has announced plans for an investigative House Select Committee.

The reason for the attempt to call back Kerry to testify is not what he did – Kerry was a member of the U.S. Senate when Benghazi went down. It is what he has failed to do as Secretary of State to help the investigation…

Update 2: Rep. Gowdy: Death Threats ‘Not Gonna Keep Me From Doing My Job’ (video)

…(Megyn) Kelly asked him if Clinton can get out of a deposition.

“Well, if she can get out of a subpoena, she can get out of it. But I don’t send invitations to cocktail parties, we’re gonna send subpoenas, and we’re gonna expect her to comply,” he said…

Kerry planning to visit Mexico on day of Benghazi hearing, despite subpoena (video)

Secretary of State John Kerry is planning to be in Mexico on the day of a congressional hearing on Benghazi for which he was subpoenaed to testify.

The scheduling conflict drew a befuddled response Wednesday from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which has ordered him to appear.

“There appears to be some confusion between State Department staff and the Secretary, who said publicly yesterday that he would comply with the subpoena for his testimony,” committee spokesman Frederick Hill said. “The State Department has not contacted the Committee directly.” …

Did Hillary Send Talking Points to Rhodes?

How did Obama administration aide Ben Rhodes get the language for the talking points he prepared for Susan Rice condemning the anti-Muslim Internet video that purportedly triggered “spontaneous” demonstrations leading to the attack on Benghazi?

Interestingly enough, the words he sent out about the video were identical to those used by Hillary Clinton two days earlier. And we know that both of them knew then that there was no demonstration. So why did they put out this fake story, and how did they coordinate their fabricated message?…
