Raw milk protest will be staged at federal agency HQ over criminalization of consumers

After surviving tea party events, Glenn Beck’s massive rally, Occupy protests, the various “million” man or woman marches and all of the associated activities, as well as both Congress and the presidential administration, it still remains unclear how the Washington establishment will fare when the mommies arrive.
They would be the mothers who feed their children raw milk and are planning a protest Tuesday outside the headquarters of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in nearby Silver Spring, Md. They will be in front of FDA offices from about noon until 3 p.m., with fresh milk they plan to pick up in Pennsylvania and transport to Maryland.
The target is the decision by the federal government to restrict access to raw milk and ban its movement from producer to consumer in many circumstances. The event is being organized by the Farm Food Freedom Coalition.
“Not only are the FDA’s actions a shameful use of force, they are also a serious threat to my freedom and my family’s food supply,” said Karine Bouis-Towe, founder of the coalition as well as Grassfed on the Hill, a food-buying club in the Washington area.
“Moms everywhere are disgusted by the FDA making us criminals for feeding our families nutritious food just because that food happens to come from a farm in a different state,” she said.
The plan is that mothers will cross state lines with raw milk and invite the FDA to witness what the agency considers to be a criminal act, the coalition said…
