One year ago this morning…
- The Tsarnaevs were living on our EBT, our housing and our college subsidies–all paid for by Americans they planned to kill that afternoon.
- The FBI had no idea who the Tsarnaevs were, despite repeated warnings from Russian intelligence officials and despite having interviewed the Tsarnaev family previously.
- Members of the Islamic Society of Boston who had heard Tamerlan’s crazed, extremist rantings hadn’t informed anyone. Nor would they in the coming week, even as the manhunt began and Tsarnaev’s photo was posted on TV.
- The FBI had “protocols” that prevented them from surveillance of the Tsarnaevs. One year later, they still do…

Dear Boston,
It’s been a year since the bombing at our marathon, and I’m sure there will be many articles written about it and testimonials given and pictures shown. I don’t know that I have much to add, except for the one important thing that needs to be said, and which I’m not sure others will get around to saying: Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who rushed to our aid in those terrible moments after the bombs went off. Without your courage, I would not be alive today…
