…A Democratic source with knowledge of Wexler’s plans said the seven-term congressman is likely to take a public policy job that deals with the Middle East. The job does not involve working for the Obama administration and does not involve lobbying, the source said.
Democrats expressed admiration for their longtime political colleague — and most immediately began handicapping who among their ranks might run.
Republicans so dislike the congressman — who’s so liberal that he wrote a book last year entitled Fire Breathing Liberal — that the reaction from Palm Beach County Republican Chairman Sid Dinerstein was, “whoever Wexler’s replacement is could not be worse — even if it’s a Democrat.”…
