Unions play rough, but not necessarily smart

From around the web:

The Other McCain, Mike Capuano: Thug 4 Life

He’s a thug, plain and simple,” says Pundette, after Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Mike Capuano demonstrated the liberal ”New Tone” at a union rally in Boston:

“I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going. Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary,” Rep. Mike Capuano (D-Ma.) told a crowd in Boston on Tuesday rallying in solidarity for Wisconsin union members.

Head-busting union goons — like the SEIU thugs who recently roughed up a Tea Party supporter in Denver — are surely grateful to know they have Capuano’s enthusiastic support. Because of the decline of union membership, most young people today know little of the coercion, intimidation and outright terrorism by which Big Labor has always operated, and it still goes on to this day. As Karen Kerrigan noted in a 2002 article, “According to the National Institute of Labor Relations Research, there have been over 9,000 reported acts of union violence since 1975. These incidents have included intimidation, sexual and racial harassment, physical violence, vandalism and even death.”…

Da Tech Guy was at the rally in Boston and got this video of a union member who expressed the basic rationale of Big Labor:

Gates of Vienna has plenty to say about Capuano’s “bloody” remark. Six weeks ago, when AZ Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot by a deranged man

…Congressman Michael Capuano (D, Massachusetts) was among the prominent decriers of right-wing hatred and incitement. Now we come to find out that incitement to violence is perfectly OK, as long as a Democrat is doing the inciting. Who would have guessed?…

It’s worth your time to read the entire post.

The Founding Bloggers know all about The Chicago Way™ : A Warning to Tea Party Patriots Everywhere because, even though this took place in Athens, it won’t be long before Americans see this happening on our streets.

And here’s an update on one of the most embarrassingly racist attacks we’ve witnessed in decades, from GatewayPundit. Stay classy, Colorado! “Do you have any children that you claim?…You need children to understand education.” You, Reader, need go to the link to read more about this:

Imagine telling Megyn Kelly, “You’re asking the wrong question”? Well, JammieWearingFool has the video. Evidently, Megyn wanted to talk about the fake doctor notes and that wasn’t in the union talking points.

“Ohio union goon curse Tea Party activists…This profanity-clogged union rant brought to you courtesy of the citizen watchdogs at Truth About Bills.” See the video at MichelleMalkin.com

So, we’ve covered misogyny, racism, homophobia, hypocrisy, moral relativity, incivility and intolerance. But what would a Marxist/Communist/Progressive union bash like this be without a little anti-semitism? ” ‘Bad Jew!’ “ R.S. McCain again: “A Jewish supporter of FreedomWorks is confronted by a leftist protester who accuses him of ‘not healing the world.’ This angry woman screaming ‘bad Jew’ exemplifies the moralistic radical certainy of the Left. For all their sermons about “civility,” the Left never hesitates to unleash this kind of frenzied carnival of hate against their designated scapegoats…” Go to The Other McCain to watch the video.

But unions can be funny and smart, too. At Weasel Zippers, another must-see video: Advice for the union goons: when attempting to chant ‘USA!’ at Tea Partiers, don’t wave a Mexican flag

Update: via Instapundit:

Note that the Newspaper Guild is part of the Communications Workers of America.

And guess what: The thug who assaulted Tabitha Hale was from the Communications Workers of America. So it’s no surprise that we’re not seeing as much reportage as the story might otherwise warrant.

UPDATE: From Tabitha Hale: “They’ve been comparing themselves to the Egyptians ousting Mubarak. Looks like they’re not too far off, given that they share the tendency to assault women with cameras.” And to have those assaults covered up by the press.
