Benghazi is ‘gone, baby, it’s in your head’: Juan Williams sparks Rove’s rage

A heated argument erupted during the “Fox News Sunday” panel discussion on whether Benghazi was a phony scandal promoted by Republicans, or whether U.S. officials launched a genuine inquiry into what actually happened in the attack on a U.S. Consulate a year ago.
Karl Rove raised his voice numerous times, unable to control his anger, while Juan Williams dismissed the outrage.
“The American people have a legitimate question: Why were efforts not undertaken to save our people?” Rove said. “No assets were put in motion, and as you just admitted, U.S. military on the ground in Tripoli were told don’t go to Benghazi.”
Williams disagreed on his description of the military’s instructions.
“There was no stand-down order,” Williams said. “What we have is: Don’t go in after the fact, when we don’t know what you’re getting into, and it could result in more American deaths.”
When Rove tried to talk over him, Williams added:
“You’re all in the weeds here. You continue to prosecute this like there’s some huge crime. Stop living in the past, and trying to get after Susan Rice or whoever. This has nothing to do with Ambassador Stevens.” [emphasis CAJ]
Brit Hume offered his opinion in an effort to diffuse the situation.
“The list of questions that remain unanswered to this day are what make this still a legitimate conversation,” Hume said. “Juan, I’m sorry to say, this is simply not over.”
But Williams wouldn’t give up.
“It’s gone, baby,” Williams said. “It’s in your head. That’s about the only place.”

Of all the scandals of the Barack Obama Presidency, I believe Benghazi is the worst. Here is Greg Hicks telling ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that he believes he is being “punished” by the State Department for speaking out on the Benghazi disaster. Hicks said he continues to speak out anyway, because the four Americans who died in Benghazi, without any help ever being sent for them, must not be forgotten.
