American Doctor’s Miraculous Triumph Over Ebola:  “Today is a miraculous day…”

Dr. Kent Brantly and aid worker Nancy Writebol were recently released from Emory University after being declared cured from the Ebola they contracted while working in Africa. Dr. Brantly served as a medical missionary in Liberia until he contracted the disease. He spoke to the press at the hospital before leaving.

Dr. Brantly declared: “Today is a miraculous day. I am thrilled to be alive, to be well, and to be reunited with my family.”…

…Brantly recalled his sickness and then thanked the people who worked on him and prayed for him:

I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and your support. But what I can tell you is that I serve a faithful God who answers prayers. Through the care of Samaritan’s Purse and the SIM missionary team in Liberia, the use of an experimental drug, and the expertise and resources of the healthcare team at Emory Hospital, God saved my life. A direct answer to thousands and thousands of prayer…

…It’s one thing to say you don’t believe in God and it’s quite another to get so upset by people who do that you lash out at them. That’s an indication that there’s something broken and twisted in you as a human being that needs to be repaired…
