…If I were shopping for health insurance, and I had tried, and failed, to log on to a web site twice – not forty times, but twice! – they would have lost my business and I would have taken my money to a competitor in the not unreasonable belief that if these people are so incompetent that they can’t even take my money then maybe I shouldn’t be trusting them with my daughter’s heart transplant.

But the left doesn’t want that for you. They don’t want you to have the freedom to make your own choices and shop around for your best deal. They don’t want you to have the option to walk away from rank incompetence.

Do you ever wonder why that is?

Well, because if you can intelligently make your own choices then they are out of a job.  And this genetic defect these losers have – this fundamental, in-their-chromosomes desire to control other people and tell them what they must and must not do – is clothed in flat-out, bald-faced lies like “compassion” and “caring” when it is nothing more than a double-shot of greed with an envy chaser.

If you are doing business with a company that treats you like crap, you go find another business. Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Sibelius, and all the rest fear this more than anything in the world. Deep down inside, they know that — as with the website rollout — they are too incompetent to compete for your money. And so they will legislate away your chance to do so. Because it is easier to take someone’s money by force of law than it is to persuade them to give it to you when every choice that is not you is better in every way…

Mary Landrieu Wants To Make Her Re-Election A Referendum On O’care?

This week, Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) took to the Senate floor and declared that her re-election in 2014 – and that of her colleagues – will be a direct referendum on ObamaCare.

In a floor speech, Landrieu declared that if Louisianans don’t like ObamaCare, they will have to vote her out of office in order to get rid of it. Landrieu insisted that families, workers and businesses can ”unelect” her before she would ever vote to eliminate the costly, wildly unpopular law…

Update: Obamacare installs new scrutiny, fines for charitable hospitals that treat uninsured people

Charitable hospitals that treat uninsured Americans will be subjected to new levels of scrutiny of their nonprofit status and could face sizable new fines under Obamacare…

…“The hospital must disclose in its annual information report to the IRS (i.e., Form 990 and related schedules) how it is addressing the needs identified in the assessment and, if all identified needs are not addressed, the reasons why (e.g., lack of financial or human resources). Each hospital facility is required to make the assessment widely available. Failure to complete a community health needs assessment in any applicable three-year period results in a penalty on the organization of up to $50,000,” according to the JCT report.

The government is particularly interested in how and why hospitals will be providing discounted or free care to poor patients, requiring each of them to “adopt, implement, and widely publicize a written financial assistance policy” and explain the methods they use to screen applicants for assistance and how they calculate patients’ bills…
