An unusual example of media efficiency. There’s a huge new supply available of her e-mails as governor and an eternally huge demand among Palin-hating liberals for new dirt on her. If you’re a cash-strapped editor, why not match one to the other and let the market do your work for you? Palin derangement is like the wind, or the sun: All the media has to do is harness it to provide a limitless supply of productivity.

Just think, if she runs for president, they might be able to outsource whole stories to their liberal readership instead of just document analysis. Then again, they’re basically doing that already.

More than 24,000 e-mail messages sent to and from Sarah Palin during her tenure as Alaska’s governor will be released Friday. Join The Post in digging through them. We are looking for 100 organized and diligent readers who will work alongside Post reporters to analyze, contextualize, and research the e-mails. Think of it as spending some time in our newsroom.

Our hope is that working together, we can efficiently find interesting information and extract new stories that will lead to further investigation. We don’t know what we’ll find, but we want you to be ready and open for the challenge.

The NYT is pulling the same stunt. Am I right to think that this is a novel experiment for major newspapers, one they’re coincidentally conducting on one of their favorite targets? …

At Power Line, Another Embarrassment for the Legacy Media

…Substantively, the emails appear to contain little of interest. The Washington Post has breathless headlines including “Emails show Palin’s governing style,” “Palin wanted less time in state capital”–everyone wants less time in Juneau, and state government has largely moved to Anchorage–and “Palin’s staff tried to balance time in state capital with time on road.” No scoops, apparently.

One embarrassing aspect of this episode, among several, is that major newspapers like the Times and the Post don’t seem to have the resources to review a few boxes of emails to determine whether there is anything there of interest. Otherwise, why would they solicit help from hundreds of readers? In my business, litigation, it is not unusual for parties to produce tens of millions of documents. A production of 13,000 emails would be considered miniscule. That our major newspapers evidently don’t have staff to do this minimal amount of work speaks volumes about their decline.

Governor Palin, meanwhile, is engaged in much more substantial activity than the TMZ-like obsessions of the Times and the Post. On Facebook she writes, “Another “WTF” Obama Foreign Policy Moment,” about the Obama administration’s perverse plan to share missile defense technology with Russia…

Freedom’s Lighthouse, Krauthammer Calls Media Obsession with Palin’s Emails a “Disgrace” (video)

Here is video of Charles Krauthammer calling the way the Mainstream Media is salivating over 24,000 pages of Sarah Palin’s emails a “disgrace.”…

…To this day, the liberal media has no questions about Barack Obama and his radical associations. Sarah Palin is a private citizen right now. She is not even a candidate for President. But they will do anything they can to destroy her. They already look like the biased fools that they are, and when they come up with nothing significant from those 24,000 pages, it will be confirmed.

Datechguy’s Blog, E-mails reveal Palin just as normal as she seems

…The frustration level must be incredible, perhaps like Joseph Cannon who still insists Rep Weiner is being blackmailed by Breitbart into admitting stuff he didn’t do (no I’m not kidding about that) the media will conclude that Palin has somehow has manipulated the data.

I’m sure if the Daily Kos and Democratic underground can devote only a few more years of manpower to it they just might find something to stop her. Maybe…

Althouse, “Palin Wanted a Tanning Bed in the Governor’s House.”

The NYT is picking through the Sarah Palin email oeuvre, and that the first nonscandal extracted from the 24,000 printed pages.

Sarah Palin’s tanned good looks may have gotten a bit of help.

An e-mail from the manager of the governor’s house to Ms. Palin in early 2008 makes clear that Ms. Palin had inquired about the possibility of installing a tanning bed in the house. The outrage! How can we trust a politician who would hide the source of her skin coloration?

HotAir.com, Explosive e-mail revelation: Palin, staff were excited when McCain named her to the ticket

…“Talked to him. Thank you – you rock – i love you!!!” Palin wrote to Janice Mason, her scheduler and executive secretary.

If you think that’s the worst of tonight’s e-mail scoops, let me assure you that you’re mistaken. Things are getting dark, Palin fans…

Also at HotAir.com’s Quotes of the Day:

…“‘The thousands upon thousands of emails released today show a very engaged Governor Sarah Palin being the CEO of her state,’ Tim Crawford, treasurer of Sarah PAC, said in an email. ‘The emails detail a Governor hard at work. Everyone should read them.’”…

The entire “quotes” article is worth reading and contains video from CNN.
