US State Department: Top US General, Martin Dempsey, Is Wrong About Gaza Civilian Casualties

In a remarkable display of open discord at the highest levels of the US government, the US State Department Spokeswoman openly challenged the professional opinion and military assessment of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the top military officer in the United States, General Martin Dempsey.

The conflict stared when General Dempsey stated that; “I actually do think that Israel went to extraordinary lengths to limit collateral damage and civilian casualties. In this kind of conflict, where you are held to a standard that your enemy is not held to, you’re going to be criticized for civilian casualties…. The IDF is not interested in creating civilian casualties. They’re interested in stopping the shooting of rockets and missiles out of the Gaza Strip and into Israel.”

Jen Pseke [sic], the widely ridiculed “spokeswomen” for American foreign policy in John Kerry’s State Department, sharply contradicted General Dempsey, stating that it is the “widely held belief” in the Obama Administration that the opposite is true…
