The mainstream media continue to ignore President Obama’s appointment of bizarre personnel to run the government. Personnel is policy. That being the case the American people need to know about these appointments. This week we look another couple of Obama appointees. These are not isolated incidents or an occasional bad apple. These folks are representative of the appointments he is making with little or no push back from the Senate during the confirmation process.

Kathleen Merrigan, Deputy Secretary of Agriculture

Merrigan wants a set aside program requiring the government to buy organic foods – despite the lack of scientific documentation that these foods are superior.
Merrigan admits that “we just don’t know” whether organic foods are better than non-organic.
Merrigan wants the government to get involved in supermarkets shelving practices via an “assistance program”, i.e., government funds to ensure that organic products are on the shelf.
Merrigan was confirmed, without one Senator objecting, by the Senate on April 3, 2009.

John Trasvina, Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity

Trasvina opposes deportation of illegal immigrants who are felony suspects.
Trasvina wants to stop local governments from enforcing immigration laws.
Trasvina doesn’t want immigration laws enforced during the Census.
Trasvina was confirmed, without one Senator objecting, by the Senate on May 1, 2009.

These are just a sample of the people President Obama is placing in positions of power within his Administration. If you want more information on these three and many others, please visit: http://www.getliberty.org/content.asp?pl=187&contentid=187

Next week we will examine two more. Those who are interested in exclusive information before it reaches the public, please contact Don@getliberty.org
