Here is the complete video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s dramatic speech today at the United Nations. Netanyahu drew a “red line” on Iran – literally – and essentially told the world body that if they don’t stop Iran before it obtains a Nuclear Weapon – Israel will.
Netanyahu is the embodiment of a leader. Israel is fortunate to have him. I wish America had such a leader for these troubled times.
Update: Obama apologetic about boycotting Ahmadinejad’s U.N. speech
…the Americans kept away not because of Ahmadinejad’s repulsive record, but because the Obama administration didn’t want to offend Jews on Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest date. But this in turn suggests that it might not have boycotted the Iranian leader if he spoke at the U.N. on any other day…

I brought a diagram for you. Here’s the diagram. This is a bomb; this is a fuse. In the case of Iran’s nuclear plans to build a bomb, this bomb has to be filled with enough enriched uranium. And Iran has to go through three stages….where’s Iran? Iran’s completed the first stage. Took them many years, but they completed it and they are 70% of the way there. Now they are well into the second stage.
And by next spring, at most by next summer, at current enrichment rates, they will have finished the medium enrichment and move on to the final stage. From there it’s only a few months, possibly a few weeks, before they get enough enriched uranium for the first bomb….
If these are the facts, and they are, where should a red line be drawn? A red line should be drawn right here. Before Iran completes the second stage of nuclear enrichment necessary to make a bomb. Before Iran gets to a point where it’s a few months away, or a few weeks away, from amassing enough enriched uranium to make a nuclear weapon.
Now each day that point is getting closer, and that’s why I speak today with such a sense of urgency.
Update 3: I Deplore This False, Ego-Centric Equivalence
…People criticizing the prophet of a great religion, people criticizing Obama – it’s all the same, yes? Obama can endure being mocked, so why can’t these foks just get over it when someone mocks their religion?
For heaven’s sake, very few of us still equate Obama with a prophet. Yes, there are Muslims who might benefit from having a thicker skin, but only a narcissist like Obama could offer his own mighty forebearance as an analogy and counterexample….
Iran’s elite commando force running oil sector, bypassing sanctions
The United States has determined that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was directing Iran’s state-owned oil sector.
The U.S. Treasury Departrment said the state-owned National Iranian Oil Co. was controlled by IRGC, which was helping the firm bypass international sanctions on Teheran’s energy sector.
Treasury said IRGC was increasing its control over National Iranian Oil as the elite military sought clients for Iran’s sanctioned crude oil exports….
Clinton Talks Iran With World Powers, Then Israel
…Obama and Netanyahu will probably speak by telephone Friday, the White House said, after Clinton’s meetings. She is doing the bulk of America’s diplomatic work at this year’s gathering of global leaders in New York, with Obama ruling out any bilateral meetings with presidents or prime ministers so he can spend more time campaigning for re-election…
