Early Saturday it was announced by the administration that the only American prisoner of war in the Afghanistan was released in exchange for 5 Guantanamo Bay terrorists being set free to Qatar. The circumstances of the capture of Bowe Bergdahl had been in question long before his release – supposedly he had wandered off and captured by the Taliban. But a soldier on Twitter is claiming that the official story is untrue, and has posted his version of the events that led to Bowe’s capture.
Towards the end of his story, he says he fears reprisal from the Obama administration, and asks for legal help. It must be noted also that he has a avatar that bears a picture of Bowe with the word “traitor” posted over it.
Here are the tweets telling his version of the story so far…

SHOCKER: Is POW Bergdahl’s Father’s Deleted Tweet a Smoking Gun?
Freed American POW’s Father Deletes A Very Disturbing Tweet: Throws Prisoner Exchange in Question
On Saturday morning, the Obama administration happily announced that we were now negotiating with terrorists and that Bowe Bergdahl would be freed in an agreement with the Taliban that would allow five dangerous terrorists to be released from Guantanamo Bay.
Bowe’s father Bob Bergdahl appeared with Obama for the announcement…
The policy of the United States government has always been we do not negotiate with terrorists. So why did the Obama administration release five of the worst GITMO jihadists – Taliban leasership – in exchange for an AWOL soldier – a traitor – who willingly walked away from his unit, raising the question of whether he could be charged with being absent without leave or desertion.
USA Today: Many called Bergdahl a traitor or a deserter. Stephen Kirouac, calling Bergdahl a “dirtbag” and “sympathizer,” was among many who seized on that speculation to criticize the rescued soldier.
“He is a dirtbag that now should spend the next 20yrs+ in Leavenworth … his fellow soldiers were affected by his actions, he is a sympathizer and deserves to be tried for desertion,” said Kirouac, whose Facebook profile identifies him as a company commander at Fort Bragg, N.C.
And it’s not just that, the soldier, who has converted to Islam, is alleged to have been teaching its fighters bomb-making skills…

Remember: Prisoner exchange violated law
Two Republican lawmakers on Saturday accused President Barack Obama of breaking the law by approving the release of five Afghan detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in exchange for a U.S. soldier believed held by Islamist insurgents for five years.
The White House agreed that actions were taken in spite of legal requirements and cited “unique and exigent circumstances” as justification…
…Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon of California and Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma said in a statement that Obama is required by law to notify Congress 30 days before any terrorists are transferred from the U.S. facility. They said Obama also is required to explain how the threat posed by such terrorists has been substantially mitigated…
CAJ note: Maybe the President just learned about this like the rest of us./s
Update: Obama Replenishes the Taliban … Or ‘How Wars End in the 21st Century’ by Andrew C. McCarthy
President Obama finally completed the prisoner swap he has been pleading with the Taliban for years to accept. While the president draws down American forces in Afghanistan and hamstrings our remaining troops with unconscionable combat rules of engagement that make both offensive operations and self-defense extremely difficult, the Taliban get back five of their most experienced, most virulently anti-American commanders.
In return, thanks to the president’s negotiations with the terrorists, we receive U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl—who, according to several of his fellow soldiers, walked off his post in 2009 before being captured by the Taliban. (For more on this, see Greg Pollowitz’s post at The Feed.) This was shortly after Sgt. Bergdahlreportedly emailed his parents that “The US army is the biggest joke the world has to laugh at”; that he was “ashamed to even be an American”; and that “The horror that is America is disgusting.”…

Maybe if Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi becomes a traitor and his parents become islamic sympathizers Obama will get him released as well… #FAIL

From Allen West via African-American Conservatives:
“Saturday we learned that Army SGT Bowe Bergdahl was released by the Taliban. But as we reported here, there are many questions surrounding his voluntary disappearance, not capture.
We’re glad he will be home to his family in Idaho, but the questions must be answered. Especially since we know that five Afghan Taliban will be released in a deal brokered from Qatar, supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Something is amiss here because Islamic terrorists don’t detain American troops, they execute them — in the most barbaric manner.”
