Union leader says America is failing

Andy Stern, president of one of the nations biggest labor unions, said today that America is failing, and many entrepreneurs aren’t loyal to the U.S.

“I think the country is in a mess,” Stern, president of the 2.1 million-member Service Employees International Union, said at the Wall Street Journal CEO Council, a conference in Washington. “I think America is failing.”

Stern, the most frequent guest to the White House this year, said the U.S. economy has created a system in which the entrepreneurial class is not loyal to America. “It’s not wrong for the government to distribute wealth to people who need it, and labor unions can help the country do that,” Stern said.
