Last year we posted a personal reflection about that Christmas Eve, remembering how it served as a brief respite and glimmer of hope in an historic and tumultuous year.

Even all these years later, it is still comforting to hear the reassuring voice of Commander Frank Borman conclude the broadcast of the Genesis reading with: “Good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas — and God bless all of you, all of you on the good Earth.”
