In an interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox News Monday evening, the contents of which is reported today by Seattle Gun Rights Examiner Dave Workman, Senator Charles Grassley stated with regard to the Gunwalker scandal,
There’s something sinister going on…They want to do everything they can to avoid this issue. They want to string us along. They want to stonewall us.
Grassley, R-Iowa, has been the point man in the U.S. Senate for the investigation into the Project Gunwalker scandal, also known as Operation Fast and Furious. Although Grassley’s efforts have fallen on deaf ears given that the Senate is controlled by members of the Administration’s own Party, that may be about to change, as reported in this breaking news article last evening.
The Senator was unusually candid regarding the frustration he feels after months of receiving no cooperation whatsoever from the White House, the Justice Department, or Senate Democrats. When he asked the Justice Department back in February, for example, if the agency was allowing U.S. guns to cross the Mexican border where drug cartels used them to commit crimes, he was told, flatly, “No.”
That brought the following response by Grassley during the Van Susteren interview Monday night:
“It’s a lie.”
