Obama tries run-around on order to halt drill moratorium

We know that Obama is not one to give up easily. Or at all. Most of you probably know he imposed a deep-water drill moratorium after the BP Gulf disaster. A federal judge as well as the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned that order.

But in true-Obama style, he is trying an end-run around this judicial order. Today he disclosed his intentions to “revise” his order and use different language in hopes of “getting his way.” Like a little kid who doesn’t like to lose at tiddly-winks.

According to MSNBC:

The Interior Department said the revised ban incorporates “new evidence regarding safety concerns” as well as new procedures to gather industry feedback. Moreover, the revision suspends drilling not based on water depth, it said, “but on the basis of the drilling configurations and technologies.”

May I remind everyone, his BP investigative team has not one deep-water or oil-drilling expert.

Representative Mike Pence (R-IN) had this to say in response:

Families and small businesses along our Gulf coast have suffered greatly while they wait for the spill to be stopped and cleaned up. They cannot afford to have their misery compounded by the Obama Administration’s job-killing agenda. The president’s relentless effort to stop deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico is threatening to ruin an already devastated economy.

“President Obama’s latest drilling moratorium will also make Americans more reliant on potentially unstable regimes. That means oil will be transported thousands of miles to the U.S. on tankers that have historically accounted for more spills than have drilling platforms.

“It’s time for this administration to stop imposing their jobs-killing agenda on America and instead stop the leak in the Gulf.
