The homeless immigrant killed last week in Queens while rescuing a stranger from a knife attack will be mourned at a wake in Brooklyn Wednesday.

Hugo Tale-Yax was stabbed in the predawn hours of April 18 after rushing to the aid of a woman being menaced by a man in Jamaica.

He died on the sidewalk.

At least 25 of his fellow New Yorkers walked past the Guatemala native as he lay dying, and no one thought to call 911 for nearly two hours.

The wake will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. at Funeraria La Fe, at 183 Wyckoff Ave.

Surveillance video can be viewed at The New York Post

At HotAir.com Ed Morrisey writes, “There are two indisputable facts in this story. Hugo Alfredo Tale-Yax is a hero — and no one else who crossed his path in his final hour of life was. Tale-Yax intervened to stop a woman from getting mugged, but got stabbed several times in the exchange. He collapses in the street, and several people pass him, including one who pulled out his camera — but not to call 911..”
