I guess all the hotels in Moose Jaw are booked this time of year.
That might explain why they’re holding that international climate summit in Cancun instead.
Or perhaps they just don’t like the idea of single digit temperatures as well as headlines in the local news reading “Cold, stormy winter with lots of snow expected for Saskatchewan.”
The article goes on to explain that a “La Nina” event in the South Pacific is expected to cause a cold winter in Canada. Such events are part of the so-called “Pacific Decadal Oscillation.” This is a phenomenon that causes huge temperature swings all over the globe but remains only dimly understood by climate scientists.
They’re too busy studying manmade global warming. That’s where the money is, and there’s a lot of it. A study by the Science and Public Policy Institute states that the U.S. government has spent $32 billion on climate research over the past 20 years…
…Steve Lonegan and an Americans for Prosperity group are going to Cancun and presenting a video giving a counter view of the event.

The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change conference, which opened in Cancun, Mexico on Monday, has yielded another example of how supposedly idealistic notions concocted by Western liberals, no matter how daft, can be transformed into weapons for international power politics. Bolivia has renewed its call for the establishment of an International Tribunal for Climate Justice that would be able to sanction governments that engage in “ecocide,” defined as crimes against biodiversity, nature and Mother Earth.
Bolivia’s UN Ambassador Pablo Salon asserted it was unacceptable for some developed countries to refuse a new commitment under the Kyoto Protocol. “Developed countries were looking for solutions that would put the onus on developing countries to reduce emissions,” Salon said. Making “ecocide” the equivalent of a war crime (or a crime against peace) would apply exclusively to the actions of developed countries…

…Now that the theory of man-made global warming has been unmasked as the fraud that it is, get ready for the next-generation justifications for global environmental control. Mass extinction is probably as good a candidate as any.
Update 2: Investor’s Editorial, The Climate Cash Cow
Ottmar Edenhofer, a German economist and co-chair of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Working Group III on Mitigation of Climate Change (say that twice), told the Neue Zurcher Zeitung last week: “The climate summit in Cancun at the end of the month is not a climate conference, but one of the largest economic conferences since the Second World War.” After all, redistributing global wealth is no small matter.
Edenhofer let the environmental cat out of the bag when he said “climate policy is redistributing the world’s wealth” and that “it’s a big mistake to discuss climate policy separately from the major themes of globalization.”
