The difference between a libertarian and an anarchist is that a libertarian understands there are crucial functions that government performs. Unfortunately, for the most part our government does not perform them. Obama et al. will regulate each bite of food you put in your mouth, but it will not put any limitation on the torrent of people openly pouring into the USA from Ebola-ravaged countries, inevitably including some who carry the disease. Even an advocate of smaller government like Rand Paul understands that this is the one of the very few times we need the government get in gear and act.
As is usually the case when we actually need the federal government for something, it is AWOL…
