During President Obama’s press conference today, he scolded Republicans for demanding tax cuts for corporate jets.

From the Associated Press in 2009:

Just a few months after lawmakers scolded auto executives for flying to Washington in private jets, Congress approved a tax break in the stimulus package to help businesses buy their own planes.

The incentive — first used to help plane makers recover from the 2001 terror attacks — sharply reduces the up front tax bill for companies who buy assets like business planes.

Update: At RedState, J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets!

…Barack Obama has once more taken a major crisis and turned into a campaign prop. The entire debate on the debt ceiling is one big false choice now. We can have a $25Tr national debt in 10 years and feed the children, or all we really care about is rich people with private jets. And let me be clear, we’re talking rich, corporate people with private jets. Like Al Gore for example.

Leave it to a liberal to go straight for the class warfare jugular when they have no valid point whatsoever…

…This is the man who had no problem with the corporate jet-set including Jeffrey Immelt. He gave GE huge taxpayer subsidies for green energy. GE spent that money hiring workers – in China. President Barack Obama also lavished aid on General Motors which went to refurbish the factories, that make wonderful GM products – in Brazil.

President Barack Obama received $1mil from Goldman Sachs during his 2008 run for office…
