The fallout has begun stemming from the decision of a New York newspaper to publish the names of concealed carry gun owners in its reading area. Megyn Kelly of Fox News told Bill O’Reilly Thursday that a female stalking victim who had not heard from her assailant in two years has begun receiving harassing anonymous phone calls as she did the last time she heard from the stalker, two years ago.

Kelly also learned that a retired police officer in the area is outraged that his name was published as a concealed carry gun owner, making him an easy target of any of the criminals he has pursued and arrested over the course of his career.

In addition, the victims of domestic abuse who have been in hiding report that they now live in abject fear knowing that their violent former spouses are aware of where they live, including their phone numbers, according to Kelly…

…Kelly further noted that The Journal News wants to do even more. They wish to publish concealed carry gun owners’ names in a third county in their readership area, Putnam County…

…State Rep. Greg Ball told reporters Thursday that The Journal News is conducting a vendetta against law abiding citizens who own guns and that subscribers should unsubscribe immediately. Ball said that a much more responsible course of action would be for the paper to publish the names of criminals who have been convicted of committing crimes with firearms in the region.
