This is how he is supposedly getting around the First Amendment concerns of religious liberty so that religious organizations won’t have to pay for birth control services and religious institutions won’t have to provide these services directly, to mandate that insurance companies provide it for free…
…Obama must take the American public for fools, but we aren’t stupid. There’s an underlying foundational principle here that most Americans are well acquainted with and it is this: NOTHING is free. Somebody always pays for the so-called ‘free service’ and in this case, it will be everyone who pays for health insurance. EVERYONE.
There’s no way that these insurance companies are going to use Obama’s opportunity cost model here to absorb the costs of these ‘birth control services’ simply because it’s cheaper than abortions (or something). No way. That cost will be passed on to the consumer, even the very folks that are being told that they aren’t paying for it. This is nothing more than a rhetorical magician’s trick so that you focus on what he wants you to see and not how the trick is done.

White House officials say they to plan to bypass church opposition to a contraceptive mandate in the president’s health care overhaul by directing insurance companies to hand out free birth control services to employees of religious institutions.
“We think this is a very common-sense solution. … All women will have access to these very, very important contraceptive services, and those employers that have religious objections don’t have to pay for it,” a White House official told reporters in a phone call.
However, neither of the officials, and none of the reporters, raised the issue of whether the mandate is a back-door method of regulating church practices, a possible violation the First Amendment’s prohibition against state regulation of churches…

With its unconstitutional, coercive, discriminatory Obamacare abortion mandate under fire, the White House announced…nothing today. A supposed “accommodation” to the policy will result in no compromise in the impact of the HHS edict forcing religiously affiliated health care providers and employers to provide insurance coverage for contraceptives, abortifacients, and related services that violate the religious principles and freedom of the mandate’s targets.
In fact, close observers say today’s announcement will make things worse…
If you are Muslim you can opt out of the Obamacare health care reform laws with no penalties
Isn’t this nice. If you are of the Muslim religion, you don’t have to give all the new Obamacare healthcare reform regulations and penalties another thought. Because the concept of being compelled to participate in such a healthcare program offends Islamic sensibilities, Muslims are specifically exempt.
As a matter of fact if you are Amish, American Indian or a Christian Scientist you do not need to participate or pay the taxes associated with healthcare reform. That means not having to be forced to buy healthcare insurance, not paying the taxes or the penalties if you don’t get it. Nice!

…As part of the health care reform law that I signed last year, all insurance plans are required to cover preventive care at no cost. That means free check-ups, free mammograms, immunizations and other basic services. We fought for this because it saves lives and it saves money –- for families, for businesses, for government, for everybody. That’s because it’s a lot cheaper to prevent an illness than to treat one.
We also accepted a recommendation from the experts at the Institute of Medicine that when it comes to women, preventive care should include coverage of contraceptive services such as birth control. In addition to family planning, doctors often prescribe contraception as a way to reduce the risks of ovarian and other cancers, and treat a variety of different ailments. And we know that the overall cost of health care is lower when women have access to contraceptive services…

Pope Benedict XVI calls modern liberalism the “dictatorship of relativism,” a phrase that neatly summarizes the Obama administration as it moves to crush the freedom of Americans through such monstrosities as the HHS mandate.
On one level, Obama is nothing more than a glib and empty pol, who careens from focus group to pollster. But on another level, buried deep within his cold and rootless personality, he is a man of perverse tenacity, a convinced socialist and secularist who was trained long ago to run the ball into the end zone for radicalism…
