The Senate Republican leadership on Tuesday deployed Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.) to help communicate its health care reform message, tapping the freshman lawmaker to participate in eight targeted radio interviews in media markets served by House Democrats.

Brown, who won a Senate special election in January in part by campaigning against the Democrats’ health care reform agenda, conducted radio interviews with stations in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, New York, Orlando, San Francisco and Seattle.

Brown also gave one national radio interview as part of a coordinated effort by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) communications shop. McConnell has conducted nearly a dozen similar radio interviews in recent days.
