Obama blows whistle on his own law enforcement agents in Mexico

President Barack Obama surprised federal, state and local law enforcement commanders and officers when he told a group of Latino reporters at the White House last week that the U.S. deployed at least 25 U.S. undercover agents to drug war-torn Mexico.

In a surprise admission, the president appeared almost apologetic when he acknowledged the existence of undercover agents in northern Mexico. Originally, most police and security experts believed any such operation would be classified in order to protect the agents.

Obama also said the American lawmen provided only “technical assistance” to help in the war on drug cartels.

One of the nation’s top law enforcement commanders, on condition of anonymity, said, “It’s a sad day when the U.S. Commander in Chief and the nation’s top officeholder doesn’t know… or doesn’t understand the old adage ‘loose lips, sink ships.'”

The press conference with Hispanic journalists followed a New York Times report that revealed the presence of CIA agents, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents, U.S. military personnel and contractors in Mexico. As usual the Times obtained information from an anonymous source with access to classified information…
