London Olympics pauses to honor dead Brits, not Israelis

In the worst decision of the Opening Ceremony, the International Olympic Committee allowed one moment of silence to be held – just not the one that it should have permitted for the past 40 years.

After saying there would be no moment of silence to honor the 11 Israeli athletes and coaches who were killed at the 1972 Munich Olympics, the IOC permitted a video tribute to the 52 people who were killed in the suicide bombings in the London transit system the day after the city won the Games in 2005…

Allen West: If we could forget Munich Olympics, we could forget 9-11

US Congressman Allen West offered a heartfelt response to recent news that the International  Olympics Committee refused to schedule a moment of silence for the eleven Israeli athletes and coaches, as well as one West German police officer who were killed at the Munich Olympics 40 years ago.

West recalled watching the Munich Olympics at age eleven, feeling baffled by the horror that interrupted the usual competitive spirit of the prestigious games.

He said that he worries if we start to shirk the responsibilities we have to honor the dead on occasions such as this, what will happen 40 years from now, when someone refuses to honor the victims of 9-11. West in his own words, in response to a question asked during his July Townhall event in Pompano Beach.

At The Blaze, “Disappointed”: NBC Censored Tribute to Terrorism Victims Out of Olympic Opening Ceremony.

If you watched the Olympic Opening Ceremonies on NBC Friday, you probably caught a lengthy and rather awkward interview between Ryan Seacrest and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps that seemed just a little out of place. Well, it turns out, it was. Apparently, for unspecified reasons, NBC decided not to air a portion of the opening ceremonies that paid tribute to the 7/7 terrorist attacks in London that claimed 52 victims…

From our post earlier today:

NBC Edits Out Tribute To Victims Of Islamic Terrorism

If you are watching the Olympics in the States, there’s a part of the opening ceremony NBC chose to leave out. While the Olympic Committee opted not to have a moment of silence for the Israeli athletes murdered in 1972, they did have a tribute for the victims of the 7/7 Islamic terrorist attacks.

The tribute included the Christian hymn, “Abide With Me” performed by Scottish singer Emeli Sandé. NBC opted not to air it…

…The Lebanese judo team at the 2012 London Olympics refused to practice next to the Israeli one on Friday afternoon, and a makeshift barrier was erected to split their gym into two halves.

According to several Hebrew sports sites, the two teams were scheduled to use the same gym and mats at London’s new ExCeL center for their final preparations. However, the delegation from Lebanon would not train in view of the Israeli team, and insisted some sort of barrier be placed between them.

Organizers accepted the Lebanese coach’s demand to separate the teams, erecting a barrier so that the Lebanese team wouldn’t see the Israeli one…

And, for good measure, a bit of politics:

Media Distorts Romney’s Olympics History to Invent ‘Gaffe’

Like any political campaign, you are told to attack your opponent’s strengths. Make no doubt about it, the Activist Old Media is Barack Obama’s most powerful SuperPAC, and they are out to attack Mitt Romney on his strength.

Take the Olympics.

Mitt Romney speaks his opinion based on what he and others have seen about the 2012 Games while in London. And the media, wanting so hard to proclaim a “Romney gaffe,” go into full attack mode on the Republican candidate. Everybody seemed to jump on this; ABC’s David Muir said, “So many Brits are boiling… a rough first stop.” “Boy, it sure was,” added George Stephanopoulos. Hey guys, you wanna see rough? Let’s check out rough. Let’s compare actual Olympic experience.

The media has created this battle, clear and simple. It wasn’t like Romney attacked everybody who had ever built a business in America (who was it who did that?); he simply gave his opinion that it was a bit “disconcerting” to see lack of preparation in some areas in London. Many observers in Great Britain have said the same thing. Now, an Olympics expert giving his opinion is called a “gaffe” by the media…

…In no particular order:

1. The Toast:

President Inspector Clouseau completely bungles a toast to Queen Elizabeth:

The screwup: At this point, the band launched into “God Save the Queen” — but Obama continued speaking over the music: “. . . for the vitality of the special relationship between our peoples, and in the words of Shakespeare, ‘To this blessed plot, this Earth, this realm, this England.’ To the Queen.” She gave him a look, he set down his glass, and then stood motionless until the music stopped. Then everyone picked up their glasses. Oops.

Watch the video. The reaction around Captain Clueless is absolutely hysterical…

…10. The Compromising of British Intelligence:

The White House leaking national security secrets to make the President look good?

Go on!

An alleged intelligence leak regarding a covert operation that thwarted an “underwear bomb” plot last week is now creating distrust and ill feelings within the U.S. intelligence community and has led to increased talk about intelligence leaks at the highest levels of government, according to terrorism experts on Friday.

Former Central Intelligence Agency officers are openly blaming President Barack Obama, his administration, and possibly his campaign committee for undermining national security and compromising the British domestic and foreign intelligence agencies, MI5 and MI6, for political reasons, according to a U.S. counterterrorism source who contacted the Law Enforcement Examiner on Friday and requested anonymity.

“When presidents are in trouble because of their failing domestic agenda, they attempt to look presidential by getting involved in military or intelligence operations. And Obama has taken that to a whole new level,” said the source.

This White House leak security secrets for political gain?

Our White House?

Shut up, racists.

Update: Wait…… Hold it…… Stop ! Just who the hell do these people think they are ?

Update 2: Doesn’t Obama know what year it is? President signs Westminster Abbey guestbook 2008. Which would be OK except it was Spring 2011.
