Sisu: OIMBY (Obama in my backyard)

The author of this blog is one of our “followers” on Twitter. They announced this Tea Party for Obama to be held on Tuesday:

The Leader of the Free World is coming to town — Portsmouth NH, just down the pike about 50 miles north of us here in Chelsea-by-the-Sea, Taxachusetts — day after tomorrow, and a bunch of us are planning to give President Obama an old-fashioned New Hampshire “Live Free or Die” welcome [We were born in Exeter, NH, so have earned our stripes]. We wanna let him know what we think of his grandiose plans to take over 15 % of the American economy and all that. Since you asked, we’re with Charles Krauthammer’s disarmingly simple, two-point program, tort reform and portability.

If you live nearby or are lucky enough to be vacationing along the magnificent Eastern Seaboard of Southern New England, please consider joining us:

Tuesday, August 11, 2009 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of Portsmouth High School, 50 Andrew Jarvis Drive, Portsmouth, NH

…the White House’s “Portsmouth Town Hall” page, where we learned that it was to be a ticketed affair, and they were already sold out. Then (came) “A message to all members of The Official MA-NH Independence Day Tea Party” with a link to the Facebook page of “Anti-Obamacare rally in Portsmouth, NH,” where they’re loaded for bear:

Obama will be arriving in Portsmouth on Tuesday to hold a STAGED “Town Hall Meeting”, where he will essentially hand pick who the guests will be and what types of questions will be asked of him.

A MASSIVE protest rally is being organized just outside.

There will be news media from all over the world at this event, and it will be the ideal opportunity for us to tell the rest of the country exactly how NH voters feel about Obamacare (taxed/rationed healthcare). It will be the most important pro-liberty event of the year in NH, and it is critically important that every one of us attend.

Come anytime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. (peak time will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Air Force One will be touching down at nearby Pease Air National Guard Base around 12:30 p.m. and departing 3:20 p.m. We’re planning to arrive early to find parking and such. Probably head over to one of Portsmouth’s charming eateries for drinks and supper afterwards. Google map shows Portsmouth High is just off Rte 1 N. Hope we’ll see you there!…
