Benghazi anniversary: Alarming details uncovered in new intel report

As the world watches President Barack Obama’s “crawl to action” against Syria’s ruthless dictator, the Benghazi massacre in Libya almost one-year ago is all but forgotten. However, on Wednesday — just one week before the first anniversary of the terrorist attack — an “Inside the Beltway” group of investigators released a disturbing report that may eventually lead to a resurgence in interest in a scandal that dogs the Obama State Department…

…Judicial Watch points out that the Benghazi debacle was merely one of the latest and most serious breaches of security in a decade filled with State Department security lapses. From 1998 to 2012, there were more than 270 “significant attacks” against US diplomatic facilities and personnel, according to State Department data cited in the report.

According to Al Jazeera: “U.S. embassies and other missions have been under siege for decades.”…

…[Patrick F.] Kennedy at the time of the Benghazi attack was responsible for the people, resources, budget, facilities, technology, financial operations, consular affairs, logistics, contracting, and security for Department of State operations, and was Secretary Clinton’s principal adviser on management issues.

“But, according to his own biography on the State Department web site, his most important work entailed chairing the department-wide ‘Greening Council,’ with the responsibility for overseeing implementation of President Barack Obama’s — and Secretary Hillary Clinton’s — Greening Diplomacy Initiative (GDI), a cockamamie program to improve the sustainability of the State Department’s facilities and operations. Yes, that was more important than protecting the lives of Americans,” said former intelligence officer now a security consultant, George Hanssen…
