Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is intensifying his rhetoric against the White House, accusing them of a “Nixonian” cover-up of a possibly illegal job offer.
For weeks, Issa has been suggesting the White House may have broken a law by allegedly offering Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) an administration job in exchange for dropping his primary challenge against Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.). (Setsak made that claim during a radio interview last month, but hasn’t elaborated since then.)…
..Issa accused White House press secretary Rober Gibbs of engaging in a “cover-up” by not answering questions about the incident.
“But, at this point, the spokesperson for the president is now part of the cover-up, day after day after day, by saying he’s going to ‘get back to you’ … with something that should be easy to either confirm or deny,” Issa said.
