On June 5, 2004, President Ronald Reagan died after battling Alzheimer’s disease. Ten years later, his legacy lives on through the conservative principles he espoused.

Reagan began his term in 1981, with the country in a deep economic crisis. Americans faced high unemployment, fallout from an energy crisis, stagnation, massive government spending, tax burden, a hollow military and Soviet threats.
